Disabilitydates are always looking out for positive stories about the disabled or those`s with disabilities and we came across a great organisation Grit Media.

Grit Media promotes the rights and aspiration`s of people with disabilites by creating opportunities to be seen and heard in a range media production`s

Their production`s bring disability awareness into people`s home through depication of realistic compelling and entertaining content,that encourages audiences to see disability as a natural part of life.

The organisation provides training opportunities for people with disabilities and aims to encourage the wider media industry to join their battle against a culture of harmful misconception and ignorance about disability.

 

Their Vision-To increase visability for people with disabilities in the media by sharing their stories and their talent.

 

Their Mission-Grit Media works to advance the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities,through the develop of production of the diverse and entertaining media,presented and produced by people with disabilities.

 

Their History-Grit Media grew out of the award winning community television program No Limits,and was officially incorporated as for a not for profit association in 2005.

Since that time,Grit Media has produced more than 50 hours of quaility community televison content,supported the development and broadcasting of a regular community radio show The Boldness on 3CR,and developed numerous other disability related media production`s.

Their lastest project is an online accessibility social network:www.travellingchair.com.

Grit Media works with a number of other organisation`s including YDAS,Arts Access,Leadership Plus,Travellers Aid,YMCA,Volunteering Victoria,VCOSS,Channel 31,RMITV and Impact Support Service.
